Sanborn County Park
Situated in the Santa Cruz Mountains between the City of Saratoga and Skyline Boulevard, Sanborn County Park is 3,453 acres and stretches south from Hwy 9 to Black Road, and west from Sanborn Road to Hwy 35. It is open year-round from 8:00 am to sunset, and vehicle entry fees are collected year-round.
The park offers hiking, camping, RV camping and picnicking year-round. With over 22 miles of trails on roughly a 20% grade throughout, avid hikers have many options for brief outings or even all day trips. Mountain bikers will enjoy The John Nicholas Trail, as well as Skyline Trail and the Summit Rock Loop.
The main geologic feature of the park is the San Andreas Fault which cuts diagonally through the park, along Lyndon Canyon and Lake Ranch, just past the campgrounds, and then along Walden West towards the Welch-Hurst house.
